At Camp Tekoa, in addition to our mission of Touching Hearts. Changing Lives. Sharing the Light of Christ, one of our most important considerations is always the health and safety of our campers and guests.  During this Covid19 season we have been taking extra measures to ensure that we exceed our already rigorous standards of cleanliness and sanitation.  We share the following to let you know we are doing everything possible to prepare for the program offerings that we are allowed to present this summer.

We continue to closely monitor the regulations issued by the federal, state and local governments as well as our local Health Departments. Our team has participated in many teaching opportunities offered by the CDC, the American Camping Association (ACA), United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries (UMCRM) and Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA).  We are blessed to be part of great networks sharing best practices and resources.  And our vendors help out by providing updates of the recommended products to serve us best.

Here are additional measures we are taking:

  • Temperature testing of each staff member every morning before beginning work.
  • Everyone on site is practicing the “3 W’s” of Washing hands,

Wearing face masks when appropriate, and Waiting, by social distancing as recommended.

  • Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the camp.  And the program areas are cleaned after each use.
  • Food service has been designed to limit contact by multiple individuals.
  • All activities and group sizes have been chosen to encourage best practices.

You can view the Summer 2020 Alternative Camp offerings on our website.   Families who register for one of the sessions will receive weekly updates on the status of camp activities and additional information concerning camp practices, arrival and departure procedures, and preparations you can make to insure an amazing camp experience.

Our staff is committed to doing everything in our power to create a safe and wonderful summer for you.
