Tekoa has two separate seasons for use: summer camp season and retreat season. Summer camp season runs from the middle of May until the middle of August each year. Retreat season runs from the middle of August until summer camp begins in May, and includes school year programming for local children as well as weekend retreats.
Tekoa offers four main programs during the summer camp season. These programs are designed for many different population groups, including age, gender, ability, and camper interests. There truly is something for everyone!
Our four types of summer camp programs are:
- Day Camps
- Overnight (TKO) Camps
- Adventure Camps
- Special Needs Camps (Barnabas)
Day Camp, for rising 1st grade and up, provides an excellent first camp experience. Adventure Day Camp is for older elementary campers and lets them experience all the fun of overnight camp while getting to sleep at home.
TKO Camps start with Elementary Mini and go up through Middle School to High School. These camps focus on the full Tekoa Experience, including swimming and boats, ropes elements, arts and crafts, and more. All activities are age appropriate and are "Challenge By Choice".
Adventure Camps offer a chance for campers to have a Tekoa Experience while also challenging themselves in new ways. From Elementary Quest to High School Expedition Extreme, these campers can explore water activities, rock climbing, backpacking, and more.
Barnabas is our summer camp for adults with special needs, which pairs each camper with a special friend who will help them navigate their camp experience.
During the fall, winter, and spring months we open our doors to retreat groups. Tekoa is a beautiful place where groups of all ages can come for meetings and fellowship, and there are many ways to customize your retreat experience. Tekoa offers a variety of school year programming for children in the Henderson County area. This includes a daily Afterschool Program, Homeschool Program, and Break Camps for school breaks. We also offer a weekend program, Camp Jim, for adults with special needs and their families.
Tekoa also hosts special events, including Alumni Events.
