Camp Tekoa’s Afterschool program offers skill-based classes/workshops throughout the school year in addition to our normal afterschool activities. Classes we have offered in the past include climbing, cooking, mountain biking, textile crafting, photography, paddling, cooking with fire and more!
Fall Amplified Classes Begin October 7th!
How does it work?
Campers will attend afterschool like normal, but then will join their class from 4:00-5:00 each day of instruction. The cost for the session of classes is in addition to normal afterschool fees.
Each class will have up to 12 campers with one main instructor. Most classes will also have a support staff member. Campers will be with mixed ages and will participate and learn according to their own comfort, ability, and skill level. Registration is at the link below. Email Alicia at [email protected] with any questions!

Fall 2024 Classes:
Mondays: Gardening
Our gardeners will be cleaning up our summer garden and planting our cold weather crops. Using tools and resources, they will build a greenhouse structure, and plan for spring. We will also set up a hydroponic garden tower for lettuces and herbs!
Tuesdays: Climbing
Climbers of all abilities are welcome to join this class. New climbers will be learning about safety equipment and climbing basics while experienced climbers learn how to teach and facilitate climbing experiences while tackling bigger challenges on the wall. Wear closed toed shoes!
Wednesdays: Paddling
This exploratory class is for those who love the water and aren't afraid to get a little wet/cold. This group will be on the water most days using our canoes, paddle boards and kayaks. This year's class will compete to design and build the best boat/board to paddle across the lake.
Thursdays: Cooking - Preserving the Harvest
Our kitchen crew will be taking the harvest from the summer and preserving it into dried herbs, salsa, sauces, jams and more! We will also visit a local orchard to collect apples for some amazing apple sauces and apple treats!
Fridays: Wild Child
The class is an experiencial education class that also includes a devotional circled around our love of nature and playing in God's creation. We will talk about what it means to be still, have joy, ways to pray, and taking care of our earth! With some mud on our faces and sticks in our hair, we will use books and stories to start each class and finish with free play in the wood.
